Graduate Sociology Students Attend a Lecture at the Croatian National Bank

On 2 December 2025, first- and second-year students of the university graduate programme in Sociology, as part of the courses Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics led by Assoc. Prof. Petra Palić, PhD, visited the Croatian National Bank (CNB) and took part in an expert, interactive lecture entitled “From Frankfurt to Dolac: How Monetary Policy Travels.”

The lecture covered key concepts and challenges of contemporary monetary policy, including money creation, transmission mechanisms of monetary policy, financial system stability, the development and potential implications of the digital euro, inflation dynamics, and the role and influence of the European Central Bank on national economies. Through practical examples and current economic events, students gained deeper insight into how monetary policy shapes the everyday lives of citizens.

The visit took place within the Moneterra programme – the Money Museum of the Croatian National Bank, a modern, multimedia and interactive educational space that presents to the public the topics of money, inflation, price stability, and the functions and responsibilities of a central bank.

We thank the Croatian National Bank for its warm hospitality and for hosting an inspiring lecture that encouraged critical reflection and discussion among students.

We look forward to future cooperation and new educational activities!
