Dr. Maja Žutić participated in a symposium marking World Health Day

On the occasion of World Health Day, Senior Teaching Assistant Maja Žutić, PhD, from the University Department of Psychology, participated in the panel “Things We (Don’t) Talk About - The Challenges of Motherhood” as part of the Women’s Health Symposium on April 7, 2026, at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb.

It was a national symposium dedicated to women’s health titled “Healthy Woman, Strong Future,” organized by the Andrija Štampar Public Health Association and the Waves Communications agency. The symposium brought together leading experts from the fields of medicine, psychology, and public health, addressing key topics related to women’s health across all stages of life - from adolescence to menopause - through a multidisciplinary approach.

Dr. Žutić spoke at the panel “Things We (Don’t) Talk About - The Challenges of Motherhood” about women’s mental health after childbirth, emotional adjustment to early parenthood, barriers to seeking help, parental burnout and its prevention, as well as ways to improve mental healthcare for pregnant women and mothers in Croatia.

By participating in this multidisciplinary symposium, Dr. Žutić contributed to raising awareness of the importance of mental health care during early parenthood and to promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of peripartum care in Croatia.
