Assistant Poslon at the international conference in Atlanta

Assistant Luka Poslon participated in one of the leading international conferences for High-Performance Computing (HPC), Networking, Storage and Data called Supercomputing 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), which took place from 17 to 22 November 2024.
Over 16,000 scientists, engineers, researchers, and programmers attended the conference to broaden their knowledge, talk about contemporary issues, and network with other members of the HPC community through a variety of sessions, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and posters. SP conference was a chance for the top universities, research institutions, and manufacturers in the globe to showcase the newest developments in HPC.

Assistant Poslon co-developed the paper "Beyond Biomedical Simulations in Supercomputing: Ethical Challenges and Regulatory Obstacles with Boundary Conditions in Healthcare" with Johannes Gebert from the High Performance Computing Center at the University of Stuttgart. Poslon presented the paper at the conference session "Ethical, Social and Policy Issues in HPC." According to Poslon, establishing of a trust for the use of AI in healthcare is usually complicated by black box AI models. Additionally, lowering the opacity of black box AI systems is essential for the use of AI in healthcare since physicians have a professional and ethical obligation to explain their decisions during the medical procedure.
