Assistants from the University Department of Sociology participate in the 17th European Sociological Association Conference in Warsaw

Assistants Paula Zujić and Lovro Knežević from the University Department of Sociology at the Catholic University of Croatia participated in the 17th European Sociological Association (ESA) Conference, held in Warsaw from August 25 to 28, 2026. This year’s conference, entitled “Strengthening Democracies: Social Action, Solidarity, and Sustainable Futures,” brought together more than 3,000 participants from 68 countries.

Paula Zujić presented a paper entitled “Highly Religious Catholic Women: Lived Religion and Agency,” focusing on an approach to researching the religious experiences of highly religious Catholic women.

Lovro Knežević, together with Assistant Professors Josip Ježovita and Miriam Mary Brgles, presented the paper “Artificial Intelligence as a Social Actor,” which examined the advantages and disadvantages of analytically treating artificial intelligence as a social actor.

Participation in the conference provided the assistants with an opportunity to present topics related to their doctoral research and connect with other researchers, thereby also contributing to the University’s international visibility.
