Representatives of the BrAIn project in III. primary school Varaždin

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, an initial research meeting was held, attended by Assoc. prof. Lana Batinić, PhD, and Assoc. prof. Odilon Singbo, PhD, principal Anica Vragović, computer science teacher Tomislav Leček and professional associate Vanja Bojanić. The research was approved by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth for implementation in schools and confirmed by the Ethics Committee of the Croatian Academy of Sciences. The project is financed by the European Union, the European Social Fund and the Republic of Croatia.

The goal of the research is to gain insight into the trends in the use of digital technology by students, educational staff and parents/guardians, primarily in the context of formal, non-formal and informal education. Based on the results of this research, it is planned to develop a framework for digital literacy and the well-being of children and youth, as well as recommendations on risk and protective factors for the use of digital technology among children and youth in Croatia.

Students, educational staff - teachers, professional associates, principals, and parents/guardians of students participate in the research by filling out questionnaires remotely (online), participating in focus groups and interviews at school.

The research coordinators at the school are Tomislav Leček, M.Sc. computer science, teacher excellent advisor, and Vanja Bojanić, B.Sc. def. et soc. paed.
