The rich social program for the 600 or so participants of the meeting included, among other things, the Mystery of Elch, a presentation of part of a sacred musical drama depicting the ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary according to a 500-year-old tradition that is under UNESCO protection as an intangible world heritage. Only for the participants of the gathering, a choir of about twenty singers performed medieval chants and staged the Assumption of Our Lady in the beautiful Basilica of Saint Mary of Elcho, which is located near El Palmeral - one of the oldest and largest oases of palm trees from the 5th century B.C. which is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
