Associate Professor Brgles and Anamaria Malešević, PhD at the European Congress of Qualitative Research at the University of Edinburgh
Associate Professor Miriam Mary Brgles, PhD, from the University Department of Sociology and Anamaria Malešević, PhD, from the Laboratory for Ethics of Digital Technologies in Healthcare (Digit-HeaL) presented at the ninth edition of the European Congress of Qualitative Research a poster titled "The Concept of 15-Minute City as an Inspiration for Refining and Recycling Photovoice Works: Create a Photo with an Intervention"!
The congress was held from 7 to 10 January 2025 at the University of Edinburgh, organized by the Center for Creative-Relational Inquiry and the European Network of Qualitative Researchers. The participation was realized as part of the Catholic University of Croatia's one-year project Socio-cultural capital of the Črnomerec neighborhood: sustainable living, care for the environment and transformational processes according to the "15-minute city" model, which was led by Assistant Professor Brgles.
The poster presents the results of research carried out using the photovoice method, based on which it was proposed to expand the concept of 15-minute city with new dimensions: identity (national, urban and religious), solidarity, memories, tradition in an urban context and atoms of culture.
The authors also presented an innovative method: photography with intervention, which includes audience participation in the research process. Along with the teachers, the Photovoice method was implemented by undergraduate and graduate sociology students, and the co-author of the poster is student Josip Čunčić.
