Beginning of classes for new PhD students in the academic year 2024/2025

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the beginning of classes in the doctoral studies History and Sociology: values, identity and social changes in Croatian society was marked. The meeting began with a prayer introduction by university chaplain Branimir Jagodić and a welcome speech by prof. Željko Tanjić, PhD, rector of the Catholic University of Croatia.


Attending students who in the academic year 2024/2025 fourteen (14) enrolled in doctoral studies, seven (7) students enrolled in doctoral studies in History, and seven (7) students enrolled in doctoral studies in Sociology: values, identity and social changes in Croatian society, addressed the supervisors of doctoral studies, Assoc. prof. Ines Sabotič, PhD, and prof. Gordan Črpić, PhD, and on behalf of the students Paula Zujić, a 2nd year doctoral student in sociology.


Prof. Stjepan Kušar, PhD, President of Doctoral Studies, held a lecture University - the struggle for power once and today, after which the Rector gave a closing speech and all the newly enrolled students were given special gifts.


From the academic year 2018/2019, i.e. since the beginning of doctoral studies at the Catholic University of Croatia, one hundred and forty-six (146) students were enrolled (65 in the history doctoral study and 81 in the sociology doctoral study), and sixteen (16) students received their doctorates (6 in history and 10 in sociology ). There are currently 109 students studying at both doctoral studies.
