First Erasmus MeetUp at CUC

The first Erasmus MeetUp meeting for incoming students was held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in the hall of bl. Alojzije card. Stepinac on the topic "In the Eddies of Weather and Climate Extremes - Challenges since Yesterday". The guest lecturer was Branko Grisogono, PhD, retired professor from the Department of Geophysics at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Zagreb and one of the most famous meteorological experts in Croatia.


Professor Grisogono spoke about current climate changes and weather extremes and their impact on certain aspects of human life. During the discussion, green topics such as sustainability, climate change and their impact on the future of our planet were touched upon, providing valuable insights into global challenges and ways to solve them.


The meeting was organized with the aim of integrating foreign students into the academic and social community of the University and promoting the exchange of ideas between domestic and Erasmus students. The working language of the meeting was English, which ensured the inclusiveness and participation of all present.


The meeting was also a step towards creating an internationally connected community, where interdisciplinary cooperation, critical thinking and joint work to solve environmental and social issues are encouraged.
