Professors of psychology, communication studies and sociology at the scientific conference "The Many Faces of Empathy"

Professors from the Departments of Psychology, Communication sciences and Sociology of the Catholic University of Croatia participated in the scientific conference "The Many Faces of Empathy". The symposium was organized by the Faculty of Philosophy and Religious Studies of the University of Zagreb and was held on March 7, 2025 in Zagreb.
 

Ana Haramina, PhD, from the University Department of Psychology, Assoc. Prof. Snježana Mališa, PhD, from the University Department of Communication Studies and Assoc. Prof. Damir Mravunac, PhD, from the University Department of Sociology, held an interdisciplinary lecture Empathy in Education: From Intrinsic Motivation to Social Action, which explained the importance of empathy as a skill in teaching, from the teacher-student relationship to teaching empathy, and its role in forming future change agents. Some controversies in empathy research and open questions that need to be answered for the purpose of its effectiveness and sustainability were particularly highlighted.
