Nursing student club "Nutrix" celebrated World Diabetes Day

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, on Friday, November 8, 2024, an action organized by the Nutrix Nursing Student Club was held at our University. The members of the club - Ivan Dolački, Ivona Gracin, Jelena Mijić, Marija Vuletić and Matko Matišić measured the blood sugar level and blood pressure of the students and employees of the University. Assoc. prof. Vilma Kolarić, PhD, professor of the University Department and head nurse of the Vuk Vrhovac University Clinic in cooperation with the Head of the University Department of Nursing, Assoc. prof. Ivica Matić, PhD,  provided great support in the organization.

On the same day, the Nutrix Club took part in an action on Cvjetni trg, where Club member Helena Legac measured the blood sugar and blood pressure of passers-by and, together with Professor Kolarić, promoted the importance of diabetes prevention and a healthy lifestyle.

The actions held remind us of the importance of regular examinations and healthy lifestyle habits. It is through prevention, information and care for our own health that we can reduce the risk of diabetes and improve the quality of life. We invite all students and employees of the University to take care of their health, control their blood sugar levels and choose healthy lifestyle habits. Prevention is key because every step towards health means a better and more fulfilling life.

We would like to thank the Croatian Federation of Diabetic Associations for the invitation to participate in the action on Cvjetni trg, as well as everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the action at the University!
