The University Department of Sociology is proud of its student club, Nexus, renowned for its distinctive activities. Established during the 2016/2017 academic year, the club has been led by several undergraduate and graduate Sociology students over the years. The Nexus logo symbolically represents light, while its name highlights the crucial link between sociological theory and practice, bridging various social phenomena and processes.
Throughout its history, Nexus members have organized numerous workshops, lectures, and congresses for the student community. In collaboration with the University Department of Sociology, the club has successfully held three student congresses:
1st Interdisciplinary Student Congress: Croatian Reality: Values and Changes
2nd Sociology Congress: Challenges of (Post)modernity
3rd Sociology Congress: Everyday Sociology: Themes and Perspectives
As part of the student initiative Coffee with a Dash of Sociology, the club organized various workshops, most notably the Workshop for Better IT Literacy and the Workshop on Writing EU-Funded Projects. A team of Nexus students also participated in the Academy of Regional Development and EU Funds project, organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia.
